Pick of the Bunch Stepping back

Pick of the Bunch

Stepping Back & Dropping In
By Hugh Morris

10 FAMOUS LAST WORDS:

  • Don’t turn it on yet, it’s not quite ready.
  • Step back a bit, I can’t get you in the picture.
  • Don’t worry, it’s not used any more.
  • Listen, I’m taking a course in chemistry; I know what I’m doing.
  • Yes, of course the elastic is strong enough.
  • I wonder what happens if these two wires touch.
  • I thought it tasted rather strange.
  • You have driven this before, haven’t you?
  • And that one over there, the red flashing one, what does that mean?
  • It’s okay, I saw them do it on TV.

Pick of the Bunch Dropping In

JUST THOUGHT I’D DROP IN:

Beverly Rodrigue, of Louisiana, explains how she was sitting in her rocking chair when she heard a loud roar. “I could tell it was a car crash by the sound”, she said.

Upon investigation, she was unable to locate driver or passengers in the crashed car.

“I told my neighbour there was no one in it, and she said to look on the roof. So I looked up and there he was!” Beverly exclaimed.

And sure enough, 39-year-old Darrell Favourite was ejected in the crash and landed safely on Rodrigue’s roof. Apparently, his injuries were so minor that he didn’t need hospital treatment. Local police cited him for drunk driving, not wearing a seat belt … and ‘flight to avoid prosecution.’
