Flying Moose and GPS Goofs
Umus B. Kidden

MOOSE HUNTING

Paddy & Mick, two retired friends, flew to Canada for an adventure.

They chartered a small plane to take them into the Rockies for a week of hunting moose. They managed to bag a total of six. Loading the plane to return, the pilot said the plane could take only four moose.

The two old timers objected strongly. “Last year we shot six. The pilot let us take them all, and he had exactly the same plane as yours.” Reluctantly the pilot gave in and all six were loaded. The plane took off.

However, while attempting to cross some mountains, even on full power, the little plane couldn’t handle the load and went down.

Miraculously, surrounded by moose bodies, Paddy and Mick survived the crash. Climbing out of the wreckage, Paddy asked Mick, “Any idea where we are?” Mick replied, “I think we’re pretty close to where we crashed last year.”

STRANGE BUT TRUE

Do you trust machines? Would you buy a driverless car? Enter the technologically-challenged woman from Ontario, Canada, who followed her car’s GPS navigation instructions down a boat-ramp and … wait for it … into the harbour.

In a statement, Ontario Police say the driver “took a wrong turn into Little Tub Harbour … weather conditions and the driver being new to the area meant a fully submerged vehicle was the result.” The 23-year-old escaped by sliding from the car’s window and swimming 30 metres to the shore in 4° water.

“You have reached your final destination.”
